 Justin is a steadfast and self-assured Greyhound with a great depth of character.  Gracious and gallant to all, he is like a king who reigns with dignity and daring.  He is generally calm, cool and collected but beneath his luxurious, fuzzy teddy bear coat beats a puppy heart that takes such pleasure in all of the simple joys that life has to offer.  Justin is politely playful and ever-appreciative of treats, toys and games that engage his active mind.  He is a quick and methodical thinker who enjoys mental and physical challenges, he really enjoyed clicker training and even took on some beginner’s agility obstacles.  Socially, Justin is gentle and supportive of his friends, whether they need to lean on him for his strength or his silliness.  He is especially caring and watchful over his brother Eddy, and the two would make a wonderful team if they were homed together.  He loves meal times and neck rubs beyond all measure.  Overall, Justin is cooperative in nature with a noble, loving spirit.  After the completion of his racing career Justin was enrolled in a teaching program at a college, where he helped students learn the fine art of responsible animal care.  He has done a great service for the community by helping the animal professionals of tomorrow learn to be compassionate and capable in their field of study.   Justin has some experience in a real life apartment which has helped him become familiar with the skills he will need in his new life as a beloved pet.  Please consider meeting him if you are looking for an intelligent and affectionate friend.  Justin is great with people but no cats. Please lets find him a good home!

   George is a three year old Cocker Spaniel who was surrendered to our Center along with his best friend Tommy, when their family could no longer care for them.  George is a laid back kind of guy who enjoys a nice walk and some time in our doggie playground.  George is ready to be out of his kennel and back into a loving home.  Please lets find him a great home!

This handsome and charming Labrador Retriever mix is Anderson.  He came to Bideawee after we rescued him from a high-kill municipal shelter, just before he was out of time.  Anderson is a sweet, social, and active young man, who loves to meet new people.  He is seeking an energetic home, which can keep up with his energy.  He also needs a home that is willing to continue his obedience training, and who can teach him not to jump when greeting new people.  Anderson is very smart, though, and should catch on quickly to everything he’s taught.  Due to his size and exuberance, children over 9 may be best for him.  All this loving boy needs is an opportunity.  Please lets find him a loving home!

 Mickey is an older Maltese mix who is understandably nervous about his future. His owner died and then the family he was living with gave him up after many years because they could no longer afford a dog.  Mickey is used to living in a home, and would like to return to one. He has lived with a female Maltese before and could again. He could also live with cats. Because he is nervous, we don't think a home with children under 10 would be good for him. Please lets find him a good home!

Joshua is 8 month old Weimaraner.  He was found running loose and picked up by animal control.  He has lots of energy.  He will need to take an obedience class.  We feel Joshua will be best suited as only dog but can be placed in a home with a female as long as you are willing to work on his resource guarding issues.  He is a very sweet loving boy and he just wants everyone to love of him.  Please lets find him a great home!

 No paw left behind our mission!

{Please keep in mind a dog is lifetime commitment. They need attention, love and time just like we do. In addition, adding a pet to the family does cost money in the way of food, health care, training,etc. So before adopting make sure you are willing to make that kind of commitment and have the resources to do so.}

Faith

Lately I seem to be thinking too much.  Dwelling on the past. Questioning everything.  Feeling indecisive. Wondering about a lot. Wishing for things that seem impossible.  And it's getting me no where but in one big confusing funk.

The kind that leaves you afraid to do anything for fear of making a wrong choice, decision, mistake, move, you name it.  Sometimes challenges in our lives have a way of doing that.  It feels like we lose a sense of guidance, positiveness and faith when we most need it.

But even in such moments I can't help but believe there are still signs of various sorts trying to help guide us.  Like coming across words of wisdom just when we need to hear them most.  Such as these that in a sense remind us to just be, to have faith.  And least we not forget that sometimes faith means means taking the first step even when we don't see the whole staircase.

Here you will find a little bit of everything. A journal of sorts about my road less traveled life. My love for cooking, nature, dogs, inspiration, travel and most of all being real. As well as a mission to help shelter dogs find loving homes.
